Causeway Coast Community Association

Constitution

1. Name.

The name of the organisation shall be - The Causeway Coast Community Association - hereinafter called 'The Association'.

2. Aims.

The aims of the Association are to:

    2.1  Provide opportunities for engagement and support for people who are residents of Causeway Coast area, with the core aim of providing a platform through which they can raise concerns and highlight local issues. The area of benefit will include the Causeway Coast, and our services will be available to residents without distinction of age, gender, religion, political opinion, ethnicity or disability.

   2.2 Represent public opinion and act upon concerns relating to local public issues; informing relevant stakeholders, including other community/voluntary organisations, charities, local businesses, media and statutory agencies.

The Association will work cooperatively, but will also be prepared to confront and challenge these agencies and organisations to ensure that all decisions taken, which directly affect the local areas, take public opinion into account.

   2.3 Organise, plan and implement action and communication campaigns which reflect resident's opinions on matters relating to the environment, road safety, tourism and infrastructure on the Causeway Coast.

   2.4 For the furtherance of these Aims the Association may:

          2.4.1 Raise funds to support its programmes

          2.4.2 make payments as may be necessary

          2.4.3 Provide accommodation and equipment

          2.4.4 Use social media and other communication       channels as a means of communicating its aims and objectives to the local community

          2.4.5 Take other such actions from time to time as may be necessary for the good of the Association.

3. Membership.

   3.1 Membership of the Association will be open to all residents of the Causeway Coast area, irrespective of political opinion, ethnicity, religion, disability, gender, or sexual preference.

   3.2 People, eighteen years and over, living within the area of benefit who subscribe to the objectives of the Committee shall be called Individual Members and shall be entitled to vote at meetings.
