Causeway Coast Community Association (CCCA) is a group of citizens who freely give their time to maintain and enhance the social, commercial and cultural lives of local residents. CCCA is based in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), within which lies the Giant’s Causeway (a World Heritage Site), stunning coastal vistas, and countryside paths and walks.
CCCA engages with local stakeholders (the National Trust, local Councillors, Police Service of Northern Ireland, farmers, land owners and residents) to run initiatives which create safer off-road parking and contribute to a reduction in the negative impact increasing numbers of tourists, traffic and day-trippers are having in the area. CCCA also initiated a ‘Farm Alert’ scheme, collaborating with police and farmers to devise and manage a system that reduces crime and criminality towards the farming community. This work has brought about greater cooperation with police and led to reduced crime against local farmers.
Causeway Coast Community Association is run entirely by volunteers from the local community - residents and farming community who are seeking to maintain a balance and quality of life that is slowly being eroded by a lack of full and considered community engagement.
New members are always welcome.
